Throwback Thursday: Thirty Seconds to Mars – ‘The Kill (Bury Me)’

Yes. This week we’re going back to a better time. A time where Jared Leto rocked the bangs and we rarely saw him without ‘guyliner’. The band has definitely changed over the years as band members have come and gone, a lawsuit has been fought with a documentary to prove it, they’ve made a Guinness World Record for their extensive touring under one album and they accomplished and overcome so much more. Luckily, the changes and events that have occurred have only helped the band flourish. They have one hell of a fan base known as the Echelon aka the Mars Army aka the Believers. They’ve become more unified over the years. The band separated from big name labels and ditched the mainstream music industry all together once the lawsuit was over. Once they were free, they began a new adventure and as a result we were given some incredible music, tours and so much more. For today, this lovely Thursday, we’re not going to focus on the here and now. That’s just not how ‘Throwback Thursday’ works…obviously. So, this little Echelon (yes, it’s true) is proud to present this week’s throwback, the music video inspired by ‘The Shining’, ‘The Kill (Bury Me)’ by Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Oscar Winning Musicians

I have a long time love for Thirty Seconds to Mars and I admit I am a fan of Jared Leto’s movies. The Oscars this year were high on my “to watch” list as I was hoping for some wins for Dallas Buyers Club. Jared Leto won for Best Supporting Actor and it was truly an awesome moment. Alternative Press has this cool piece on past musicians who have taken home some Oscar Awards, maybe not for dressing up like a transgender AIDS patient but for their role in films through music and things like that. I hope the link works, if not I’ll put it in the text here as well. Go check it out!
