Break Down The Walls Tour ft. Asking Alexandria!

Tickets were sold out for the Break Down The Walls Tour  in Clifton Park, NY Thursday but thankfully I bought tickets in December, knowing this would be a big show. After waiting in line for hours, freezing our asses off, my little sister and I made it inside the small club-like venue where we’ve seen many performances and at that very moment 5 incredible bands were getting ready backstage. We were lucky and found a spot up front, right against the barrier and just enough to the side so that my 13 year old sister wouldn’t nailed in the head by a crowd surfer. The line up was incredible and every band owned that stage. Born of Osiris, We Came As Romans, Crown The Empire, August Burns Red, and drum roll please…Asking Alexandria! It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to, we had a great view of the stage, the song choices for all bands were a perfect mix of classics and fresh material, the band members were funny and they interacted with fans, the transition between acts was quick and seamless, I got a guitar pick during Asking Alexandria, and we met some really great people along the way. Overall, an excellent show and if you can manage to get tickets to a show near you I suggest going! Here are some photos from the show, I’m trying to get the videos on here so check back!

It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to another talented musician far too early. Dave Brockie aka ‘Oderus Urungus’ frontman of GWAR, was found dead in his apartment Sunday night. While the cause of his death remains unknown at the moment, something we know for sure is that for a man of just 50 years old, he was an incredible man who lived one hell of a life and GWAR won’t be the same without him. We miss you Dave, may you keep rockin’ wherever you are!

Oscar Winning Musicians

Oscar Winning Musicians

I have a long time love for Thirty Seconds to Mars and I admit I am a fan of Jared Leto’s movies. The Oscars this year were high on my “to watch” list as I was hoping for some wins for Dallas Buyers Club. Jared Leto won for Best Supporting Actor and it was truly an awesome moment. Alternative Press has this cool piece on past musicians who have taken home some Oscar Awards, maybe not for dressing up like a transgender AIDS patient but for their role in films through music and things like that. I hope the link works, if not I’ll put it in the text here as well. Go check it out!
